Tour Highlights

Experience “The Hospitality State” on this charming five-day getaway!

Day 1 – Vicksburg National Military Park / McRaven Home

Nestled on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi, Vicksburg will be our first stop for a history lesson at their National Military Park, which encompasses the Vicksburg National Cemetery, the restored USS Cairo gunboat, and 1325 historical monuments on the 16-mile stretch of road. After our Manager’s Reception at the hotel, if you’re brave enough, join us for a late night tour of the McRaven Home. First opened to the public in 1961, this “haunted home”has been featured on The Travel Channel, 48 Hours, in LIFE Magazine and countless other magazine articles. Popular for being built in three different periods, National Geographic called it the "Time Capsule of the South."

Day 1 (A) Overnight: Vicksburg, MS

Day 2 Mississippi State Capital Building / Eudora Welty House / Beau Rivage Resort & Casino

Patterned after the National Capitol, the Mississippi State Capital Building was built in 1903. Today it is a major tourist attraction as well as remaining the focus of the state’s government activities. Designated a National Landmark in 2004, the Eudora Welty House is of exceptional national significance and the home where she wrote almost all of her fiction and essays. The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum exhibits tell the personal stories of American heroes and serves to educate future generations about the price paid for freedom and prosperity. Our day concludes at the glamorous and chic, Beau Rivage Resort & Casino for a two-night stay.

Day 2 (B,L,D) Overnight: Biloxi, MS

Day 3 – Biloxi City Tour / Living Marine Adventure Cruise / Shrimp Boil

The pride and heritage of Biloxi comes alive on our city tour which includes the Beauvoir Mansion and Jefferson Davis Presidential Library. “How many legs does a shrimp have?” Once aboard The Living Marine Adventure Cruise, you’ll learn everything you ever wanted to know about this delicious southern delicacy; how to catch it, how to cook it, and most importantly, how to eat it!

Day 3 (B,L) Overnight: Biloxi, MS

Days 4 & 5 – Swamp Tour / Charboneau Distillery / Antebellum Home Estate Tour

Gators and turtles and snakes, oh my! Our guided Swamp Tour guarantees you safe passage through one of Louisiana’s last preserved wetlands and takes you through a Cajun village accessible only by boat. As you cruise through the bayou, you’ll be entertained with folklore of Honey Island, told by your local guide. After our scaly adventure, we make our way to Natchez for a stroll on the town, maybe a little shopping and a southern libation. Located in one of the oldest standing buildings in the Mississippi Territory and Natchez circa 1789, King’s Tavern is where we start our expedition of Charboneau Distillery. This family owned and operated micro-distillery not only produces delicious rum but offers a unique opportunity for visitors to see how it's done. Before heading home, we’ll do a driving tour of the Antebellum Style Homes that Natchez is so famous for and visit one of the prominent estates.
