Join the leaf-peepers to see New England country roads and brilliant fall colors combined with Niagara Falls, Boston and New York City. This road trip has been our most popular one over the years.

Itinerary

DAYS 1 & 2 – Memphis / The Blue Grass State
Get your running shoes on and be a part of this all-encompassing trip to see the fabulous fall foliage colors of New England. We have a special evening planned for you in Bardstown.
Day 1 (A) Overnight: Memphis, TN; Day 2 (B,D) Overnight: Bardstown, KY

DAY 3 – My Old Kentucky Home
Stephen Foster’s Old Kentucky Home is among the many sights you’ll see on the drive to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
(B) Overnight: Mansfield, OH

DAY 4 – Niagara Falls / Maid of the Mist
Today, we’re bound for Niagara Falls, or “Honeymooners’ Paradise” on the Canadian side. We’re in for a real thrill! – aboat ride of Niagara Falls – an up close and personal connection with the thundering water, awesome power and amazing mist of the mighty falls. After dinner, we’ll see a spectacular view of the thundering Falls.

DAY 5 – Thousand Islands Cruise
Next, we’re on our way to one of the most beautiful waterways in America – the Thousand Islands of the St. Lawrence Seaway. We’ll cruise through these beautiful islands, many of which are privately owned.

DAY 6 – Lake Placid / Ausable Chasm
Today, we’ll drive through the spectacularly beautiful and wild Adirondack Mountains, taking a lunch break at Lake Placid. We then drive to one of America’s great scenic wonders, Ausable Chasm, where mighty sandstone cliffs were formed an estimated 500 million years ago. We ferry across Lake Champlain and arrive in colorful Vermont.
(B) Overnight: Burlington, VT

DAY 7 – Covered Bridges / Morse Farm / Tram Ride
We begin a circle tour of the Green Mountains with spectacular views. During a stop near Waitsfield, we’ll see an oft-photographed old covered bridge, built in 1833. In Montpelier, we’ll see the State Capitol Building with its gilded dome. One of the highlights of this tour is a visit to Morse Farm for a “sugar on snow” treat. Exploring the White Mountains, we’ll see the celebrated Franconia Notch and take a tramway ride to the top of Cannon Mountain for spectacular views.
(B,D) Overnight: Lincoln, NH

DAY 8 – Boston Highlights
Highlights of our Boston tour include Bunker Hill, the Boston Common, the USS Constitution, Old North Church, Freedom Trail, Beacon Hill and Back Bay.
(B,D) Overnight: Boston, MA

DAY 9 – New York City
We drive to exciting, fascinating New York City. Our sightseeing tour will include Times Square, the Theatre District, Garment District, Greenwich Village, the Bowery, Chinatown, Wall Street, and the United Nations Building. We’ll have a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park and pay respect at Ground Zero.

DAY 10 – Fall Colors
Crossing one of the world’s most gorgeous rivers, the Susquehanna, we have a wonderful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

DAY 11 – Kentucky Foliage
If we’re in luck, the mountain foliage will have begun to change into fall dress, as we return to the Blue Grass State of Kentucky.

DAYS 12 & 13 – Farewell Dinner / Homeward Bound
Leaving Kentucky, we make our way through Tennessee into the neighboring state of Arkansas, saying goodbye to our Arkansas friends. You have seen miles and miles of beautiful, majestic mountains, been greeted by fiery colors of New England in autumn, and glimpsed the excitement of Boston and New York City.
Day 12 (B,D) Overnight: Little Rock, AR Day 13 (B) Home
