Itinerary
Departing Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex
Days 1 & 2 – Enchanted Rock State Natural Area/ Rockbox Theater/ Y.O. Ranch/ National Museum of the Pacific War/ Wildseed Farms
Taking the back roads of Texas, we view the scenic beauty of the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area and pass by wildflower country near the Willow City Loop. After dinner at a German restaurant, it’s Showtime at Rockbox Theater for an evening performance of a family-friendly comedy! Day 2 begins with a tour at the Y.O. Ranch, home to exotic animals from all over the world. Bring your camera! A delicious chuckwagon lunch will be provided at the ranch. Back in Fredericksburg, we’ll visit the newly expanded $14 million National Museum of the Pacific War, dedicated to making sure the sacrifices of those who contributed to WW II victory will never be forgotten. Continuing our sightseeing we visit Wildseed Farms, the country’s largest working wildflower farms.
Day 1 (D); Day 2 (B,L) Overnights: Fredericksburg, Texas
Day 3 – Vanishing Texas River Cruise/ Homeward Bound
Inspiring scenery greets us as we travel through Marble Falls on to the shore of Lake Buchanan for a cruise and lunch aboard the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. Stunning views of the lake and the stone canyon walls plunging down to the water line are some of the bonuses along with a box lunch aboard. Look for some of the 600 bird species that inhabit the area! Have your cameras ready again!
